The Portland Tribune says retro auto styles are very popular, but the Jeep Wrangler prompts the obvious question – why buy an imitation icon when you can own the real thing? Many brands have returned to their roots to inspire new vehicle, but the wrangler is not a new version of an old car. It is a direct descendent of the original WWII Jeep 4x4s.
TorqueNews.com: “For over 70 years the Jeep has been an icon for rugged capability,” TorqueNews.com said. “During that time it evolved from a butt-busting, no frills military vehicle to a modern 4-wheeler. The strategy for 2011 combines legendary capability with an all-new interior that delivers rich styling with significantly upgraded materials, occupant comfort and utility.”
The Portland Tribune review said the Wrangler was a “blast” to drive around town, even though it was designed more for serious trail work than day-to-day city driving.
The Wrangler excelled at a recent off-road competition, the Portland Tribune said. The vehicle “easily handled the most severe of the tow courses set up for the head-to-head test against off-road vehicles, boldly going where few of its competitors would even venture,” the review explained.
